Samsuzzaman Shams (born 2 June 1986) is a Bangladeshi journalist and media professional with extensive experience in reporting, teaching and administration. He is currently working as a Staff Reporter (Savar) at The Daily Prothom Alo (since January 2023). Over the years, he has served in several reputed institutions including The Daily Samakal, The Daily Bonik Barta, Radio ABC and City Bank Limited.
Shams began his journalism career as a Campus Correspondent for Prothom Alo and Radio ABC during his university years, later expanding into staff reporting and editorial roles. His career also includes teaching as a Lecturer at Mohammadpur Kendriya College, and leadership roles in HR & Administration at Italtechno Pvt. Ltd.
Beyond journalism, he is deeply engaged in social causes, serving as Member Secretary of BLOOMS (Beaconing Light Organization of Mankind and Society), a specialized school for children with disabilities. He has also participated in international training programs and seminars, including those organized by SAP International, Sheikh Fazilatunnessa Mujib Memorial KPJ Specialized Hospital, and MRDI.
Shams is fluent in Bangla (native) and has strong proficiency in English (C1 level). His career reflects a blend of media excellence, community service, and leadership in education and administration.
